Regulations to be read
with the Principal Regula- tions.
(ii) Applications for withdrawal from a local credit must be in the prescribed form, and when the amount to be with- drawn exceeds £3 the Postmaster General may require that the application form shall be received at the specified Office not later than the day (excluding a Sunday, Christ- mas Day, Good Friday or public holiday) before the date on which the withdrawal is to be made. (iii) Payment shall be made only to the depositor or to a per- son authorised by him on a prescribed form to receive on his behalf the amount to be withdrawn.
(iv) The depositor and any person authorised by him to re- ceive the amount to be withdrawn shall produce evidence, to the satisfaction of the Postmaster or other Officer, that he is the person entitled to receive the amount stated in the application.
(v) The deposit book must be produced at the specified Office on the occasion of each withdrawal, and the paying Officer shall enter the amount paid in such book and attest the entry with his initials and the date stamp of the specified Office.
(vi) The depositor, or the person authorised by him to receive the amount to be withdrawn, must sign the receipt on the form of application in the presence of the paying Officer, at the time when payment is made, and that receipt shall be a good discharge to the Postmaster General for the sum specified in the application. (vii) When the local credit stands in the name of more persons than one, all such persons shall sign the application for withdrawal and receipt Provided that if all such persons request that the sum to be withdrawn may be paid to one or more of them to the exclusion of the others the receipt of the person to whom the sum is to be paid shall be deemed to be the receipt of all the persons in whose name the local credit stands.
(viii) A local credit shall continue in force for such period only
as may be prescribed.
(2) This Regulation shall not apply in the case of such accounts as the Postmaster General shall direct but subject as aforesaid the provisions of the Principal Regulations as to the withdrawal and payment of deposits shall (so far as they are applicable) apply to any withdrawal and payment under this Regulation.

3. These Regulations may be cited as Bank Amendment (No. 6) Regulations, 1936.”
4. These Regulations shall be read as one with the Principal Regulations and all Regulations amending the same.(a)
